What will you be doing on 8th of March, 2008?

I over heard this conversation between the lecturer and one of my classmates yesterday.

Classmate: Miss, so are you going to vote this time around?

Lectuer: Of course, why not? It is our responsibility to do so anyway. Are you voting?

Classmate: Yes I am.

Lecturer: Where will you be voting? Who are the candidates?

Classmate: I will be voting in Petaling Jaya but I don't know who are the candidates. But definitely I will vote for Barisan Nasional lah.

Me: O_O omgwtfknndoyouknowwhatthebbqyouaretalkingabout?!

Doesn't this sound so true?

Doesn't that sound ridiculous to you? That classmate of mine does not even know who are the candidates in her area, yet she is so certain that she is going to vote for whoever that represents BN in her area!

And the "whoever" can be anyone, regardless of whether he/she is a donkey, monkey, kitty, or even a car key! So long as she sees the logo of BN lah! With that logo anything pun boleh!

I guess if I were to ask her why is it so, she would probably stare at me and say...

"You stupid ke?! I bumiputera lah! Of course I sokong and vote for BN lah! If not you expect me to vote for Rocket ke?!"

Heh. I guess I better not ask her the reason already.

4 more days to go!

Albeit I am really excited about this election, I can't vote because I am still too young for this. =(

I mean, not SO young, but still young lah! Else why am I not allowed to vote yet?!

And I know, there's no point asking you to go and register yourself for the election already. The boyfriend went registering a few weeks ago, and he was told that he can only vote during the next election because they will need 3 months to process his application!

3 freaking months! Register also need so long meh?!

Aiyah but anyway, the boyfriend also has to bear some responsibilities lah. Told him to register earlier and did not want to listen. Now who else can he blame? Tsk tsk tsk!

So those of you who have already registered, go vote wisely okay? Theres no such a rule saying that you can only vote for this certain party if you are this certain race. Go vote for people who can do something for the society!

You can make a difference to your own life, and perhaps, mine as well as the others who are not eligible to vote yet.
